OCs do need a history section, considering that unlike characters with pre-established canons I can't just read about them in a wiki. A summary would be best, maybe a few paragraphs if you've got a lot going on.
Id say that if you have "extra notes and junk" put it in his journal somewhere. But if its relevant to his character and personality you can go ahead and include it in the app, whereas if it is something on the side you can feel free to leave it in the world notes guide on your character's journal, perhaps.
